About

Hi my love! I'm Jess, trauma - informed Somatic Coach, and I am so glad you are here. Whatever brings you to my page, know that you are not alone and this is a safe place to be.

I am no stranger to feeling isolated and trapped by life’s struggles. At a very young age, my experiences taught me that I was somehow inadequate and had no control over my life; That no matter how loud I prayed, how good I was, or how hard I worked to earn love and belonging, my pain was inescapable.

Meet your Coach

Over time I learned to ignore my own desires, intuition, and basic needs in order to protect myself from the pain of never obtaining what I was seeking. In 2019, the accumulation of suppressed trauma and grief caught up with me in the form of debilitating physical symptoms.

Unexplainable widespread pain, chronic fatigue, and dizziness with vision loss became part of my daily life, along with many other symptoms. It was an incredibly lonely place to be, especially when no one could tell me what was happening. Along with these physical symptoms, I was also experiencing anxiety and depression at a whole new level. I found myself in a chronic state of either panic or numbness, and I could no longer fake the smile I had for so long.

It wasn’t until I learned how to truly love myself and  prioritize my own well being that things started to shift. I slowed wayyy down, and with support, learned how to view myself with compassion and curiosity rather than criticism and self doubt.

Somatic work has by far been the biggest catalyst on my healing journey. It has given me the tools to reconnect with, learn the language of, and honor my body’s wisdom.

Despite not having control over everything in my life, I finally feel  safe knowing that I have the ability to bring myself back into a state of peace and wholeness. It is incredibly empowering to know that no matter what life delivers I have the ability to remain calm, grounded,  and in my truth, which is what I'm here to empower you with.

You may not have had a choice in how your past played out, but you do get to choose where you go from here.

I would be honored to walk this journey with you.

  • What is Somatic Coaching?
Somatic coaching is a holistic approach to personal growth and healing that involves connecting to the wisdom of the body. Trauma and challenging life experiences can become stored in the body in the form of chronic tension, pain, and restrictive movement patterns. This embodied trauma limits our capacity for joy, connection, creativity, and freedom. The first step to unwinding old trauma responses lies in cultivating body awareness. Through somatic coaching, we tune into the subtle sensations, emotions, and impulses of the body. I guide clients into a state of mindful presence with practical exercises like breathwork, guided movement, and body scanning. This helps interrupt habitual thought loops and brings awareness to areas of held tension or numbness. As we become more attuned to inner body wisdom, insight and new possibilities emerge organically. Old traumas stored in the tissues begin to unwind. The body resets to its natural state of ease and flow. Clients report feeling more grounded, resilient, and hopeful. My somatic approach is collaborative and client-led. Each person possesses their own inner healing intelligence. My role is to offer tools and a compassionate presence to support your self-discovery process. If you're seeking lasting transformation, somatic coaching can help reprogram old trauma responses and restore your sense of safety, trust, and joyful embodiment.
  • What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
There are a few key differences between somatic coaching and therapy: Focus: Coaching focuses on helping clients achieve goals and make changes, while therapy focuses on healing psychological issues and trauma. Coaching is more future-oriented. Structure: Coaching typically follows a set structure of sessions with specific goals, while therapy is more open-ended. Therapists may explore a wider range of issues. Training: Coaches are trained in coaching techniques and somatic/body-based practices. Therapists have mental health clinical training and expertise in diagnosis and treatment. Relationship: The coaching relationship is typically more collaborative, while the therapist takes more of an expert role. Boundaries also tend to be stricter in therapy. Mindset: Coaching works with the client's existing strengths and resources, while therapy aims to identify and resolve problematic patterns and symptoms. Coaching assumes higher functioning. Body focus: Somatic coaching uses a lot of body-centered awareness exercises, while traditional therapy may not. Somatic therapy does focus on the body. Duration: Coaching usually lasts for a defined period, while therapy may be open-ended. So in summary, somatic coaching takes a wellness approach to helping clients using body-oriented techniques, while therapy aims to treat mental health conditions through psychological expertise and methods. The boundaries and reasons for seeking each tend to be different.
  • What does trauma-informed mean?
Being trauma-informed as a coach means having an understanding of how trauma can imprint on the body and nervous system, creating chronic stress patterns and disconnection. The primary aim is to provide a safe environment for clients to explore their inner experiences without feeling re-traumatized. The way to do that is by having an awareness at all times where the client is within their window of tolerance, and having the tools to move them back into it if they step outside. We also use invitational language, titration, and pacing to support our clients, avoiding anything that could threaten their sense of safety. As a trauma-informed coach, my focus is on creating an empowering space for my client's own healing and growth.
